WHY JESUS?
The Apostle Paul, who wrote most of the New Testament of the Bible, says in Romans 3:23 that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s standard, and in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death—not just physical death, but spiritual death. The human consequence of sin is eternal separation from God, who is the Creator and Source of life.
But, God has given us a way back to Him through Jesus!
In Romans 5:8, Paul explains that God demonstrated His love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us. He died for you! He died for your loved ones! So, to be redeemed from our separation with God and to enter into a restored relationship with Him, all we have to do is receive Jesus’ death as the payment for our sins, believe He rose from the dead, and put our faith in Him by asking Him to be the forgiver of our sins and the leader of our lives from this point forward. The moment we put our faith in Jesus, our sins are forgiven, we become a child of God, and we inherit eternal life with Him. You can experience that right now. Simply quiet your mind and heart, and pray something like this…
Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and I need a savior in order to be right with God. Because of your death and resurrection, I believe that you can be that savior. I am sorry for my sin and I ask for your forgiveness. I’m placing my trust in you and I surrender my life to you now. Please be the Leader of my life from this day forward. Amen.
